Winter

| Had an amazing winter this year. Floods in November, winds in December and more snow in January. Lot's of good material to write about! And hey the snowboarding and skiing was great! Most of us escaped to somewhere in the bleakness. Terry and Mary went to Costa Rica and found pickin' on the Pacific side. Back home, we had fun playing the Annual Maltby Bluegrass Fundraiser Concert along with David Goliath and Prairie Flyer. It is a terrific event that suppoorts a wonderful cause. Alan's song Highway 99 was featured on NPR affiliate KUOW as part of a series of stories on the Alaska Way Viaduct. On May 24th, tune in to KBCS 91.3 FM at 1:00 pm. You'll hear Alan and Pete featured on Lunch With Folks. You'll hear stories, songs and more with these two characters. Looking ahead...We are honored to be a part of the Bluegrass Show at Folklife this year. Come join us at the Bagley Wright Theatre on May 26th at 3:00 pm. Four other great Northwest bands are featured as well; Three Generations, Ida Viper, Captain Gravel and Prairie Flyer. It's the full meal deal! On Monday May 28th, look for Alan on stage at Cafe Impromptu at 5:30 pm. Come on out, pick up a copy of our CD and take in the Folklife experience. Hope to see you and till then... Stay Tuned! | ||||||

Our debut CD is now available! 16 tracks of music with 15 original songs we had a blast making. You can order a copy by dropping Pete a note, or you can find it in Seattle at Dusty Strings. Look for it at CD Baby, iTunes and more shortly. Alan's song, Highway 99 had airplay on TV and radio as the Alaska Way Viaduct story continues to unfold. We had a busy fall playing various spots from the Snoqualmie Valley to Brewgrass in Anacortes, WA. Winter is heating up... literally they say, and we are as well. Always eager to play! Hope to see you, come on out and hoot and holler with us! |

Just returned from another fun festival, Adventure Bluegrass ~ Columbia Gorge Bluegrass Festival in Stevenson, WA. This event is put on by Acoustic Sound, the same folks that bring Wintergrass to Tacoma, WA. each February. This was the 26th year for this festival. We had a terrific time picking with friends, meeting new folks and won the Bluegrass Band Contest! Look for us next year at Adventure Bluegrass on the main stage. We are thrilled to be part of this event next year. Before Adventure Bluegrass, Stay Tuned was at the Darrington Bluegrass Festival in Darrington, WA. It was a hot, dusty festival that had us spending as much time in the river as we did with our instruments. Lot's of great music and fun times with our regional and Canadian friends. We've been busy finishing mixdown for our upcoming CD. Stay Tuned for a September release and details shortly. |

| Hi there and Happy New Year! This winter Stay Tuned enjoyed the holidays with family in the northwest. While rain and snow collected in the low and highlands, Alan slipped south below the equator. He was in Antarctica conducting banjo compliance inspections for an international team of scientists. Penguins flocked to meet him (check out the shot of penguins rushing to make a mosh pit). After reaching Alan, researchers said they bellowed, "Earl Scruggs." You can see him in action below. Record rain, record snow, record football, have all set a tone this winter. Looking ahead, we set our tone as well. Look for our record (CD) shortly. We've been busy tracking and it will be ready this spring. Stay Tuned for more details. In the meantime come join us for a show, we look forward to meeting you. There is always great food and beverage on hand. Maybe we can get Alan to tell us all about March of the Banjo. | ||||||

Summer ~

| Welcome back! Stay Tuned enjoyed the summer relaxing and taking in the great Pacific Northwest. Check out the Galleria for summertime pics. We had the opportunity to play for an event on San Juan Island and came back in awe of the beauty. Congratulations to Dave and Molly and thank you for a great time! We attended several bluegrass festivals including Wenatchee, Darrington, Mt. St. Helen's and Chilliwack. If you were hiking this summer, you may have crossed over Alan's tracks in the Olympics. Or found him at Jam Camp picking and singing. Or perhaps drove past him on his bike. Pete built a fence (a big fence) and has all fingers intact (yea....whew!). When he wasn't swinging a hammer, the trailer was in tow and the Goodalls headed to campgrounds, woods and the coast. He also became lead mower on a tractor and the lawn was in denial of gowth. Terry and Mary kept the kayak paddles wet as it was all they could do to find water. Terry was ready to establish honorary residency in British Columbia with his trips north this summer. Pete and Alan continue to write new material, so Stay Tuned for more. We look forward to fire up the instruments and share our music with you. Hope to see you and thanks for your support... Remember... When in doubt, Stay Tuned! Life is better with music! | ||||||

| Hey there, Stay Tuned is wrapping up the season and we'll be back in vibrating force in the fall. Look for us at various festivals and events this spring and summer. Be sure to say hi if you see us! In the meantime, we'll be running about in the great Pacific Northwest. Perhaps we'll stumble across you on a dusty path in the mountains, casting a fly on a river, dipping a paddle in the water or enjoying one of many great bluegrass festivals. But one thing is certain, we'll have our instruments on "inspiration standby." Many thanks to all the folks who came out to see us and support our music. We simply had a blast. Looking ahead, Stay Tuned for a CD release announcement. We're in the studio in June. Alicia Healy is producing our project and we're thrilled to have her join us. Special thanks to Mark Alexander for this series of pictures from the Celtic Bayou. Look for us there again in the fall. Special thanks to the wonderful places we played. Third Place Books, Flying Pig & KSER, Smokin' Pete's BBQ, P & G Speak Easy, Wired & Unplugged, Big Al's, and everyone else! If you have a hankering for bluegrass at an event or occassion, give us a call or drop us a note. Till then, Stay Tuned and hope to see ya'. | ||||||

Every year on the last weekend in February there is a wonderful music festival in Tacoma called Wintergrass (www.wintergrass.com). Most of us have been attending this festival since it's inception in 1993 and this year was no exception. Stay Tuned had the pleasure of performing in the Washington Bluegrass Association's suite at the wee small hour of 1:00AM! Afterwards we hung out and jammed with folks from Back Burner, Lost in The Fog and Captain Gravel until 3:30 in morning. Now this may seem unusual to you, but that's only the "shank of evening" in bluegrass hours. We only got about 4 hours of sleep the whole weekend! Mary was there for a whole week attending a workshop and Pete got there on Thursday to conduct performer interviews as part of Radio Room. Alan had an unfortunate incident with room deodorizer at one of the fine hotels in Fife, but hey, that's another story. If you had a chance to catch our performance, thanks for stopping in - if you missed it, well, that's a bummer! We hope to be included in the group of performers for Wintergrass in 2006. Thanks to Rick for this roll of pictures. Rick and Kathy Jacobson are the proprietors of Wired and Unplugged in Snohomish , WA. This is a wonderful venue and a great place to catch a show. Be sure to check it out (wiredandunplugged.com).

Thanks to William Robinson for sending us pictures. In the meantime, catch Pete on the radio at: KBCS, 91.3 FM and Bluegrass Ramble. You'll find him there on the 4th Sunday of each month. Bluegrass Ramble is on from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm every Sunday. The program is streamed if you can't pick up the station on your radio at www.kbcs.fm. Until next time, Stay Tuned.
