CD Reviews

"This is a well-organized band with excellent skills in bluegrass music as demonstrated with 15 of 16 original tunes. Very much in the bluegrass genre, these songs are a statement of the talents of the band members... The songs reflect the experiences of the band member-writers. Themes of 'home & heart', living conditions, personal experiences and beliefs all laid down over an excellent base of skillful instrumentation…Stay Tuned, these folks know what they are doing and that translates into FUN."

"They epitomize some of the tantalizing bluegrass foundation of the northwest. And how can you not enjoy their enlightened original perspectives and comic expressions of affirmative spirit? A takeoff on Pig in a Pen, their rendition of Pig in a Can, sounds more like Bill Monroe meets Cab Calloway. They should plug some of these songs to big names looking for new cheery material."

"This first CD by Seattle area Stay Tuned is one you are going to want to add to your collection! Simply a GREAT mix of this outstanding groups' talent ... These folks have gone the distance to give you more than your money's worth! The cool thing is that they manage to showcase each of the musicians' individual talents as well as their unique and distinctive style as a group. I just didn't want the CD to end! You may have heard mandolin and guitar player Pete Goodall on KBCS (www.kbcs.fm) as the host of his weekly radio program called "Bluegrass Ramble." Pete wrote half of the selections on this project. Fantastic first effort! I'm already looking forward to their next project."
Steve Derebey ~ Washington Bluegrass Association Gazette CD Reviewer ~ Winter 2007

"Bluegrass is a force of nature, but there are those folks who deserve a lot of credit for making things happen for the high lonesome crowd in our neck of the woods, and Stay Tuned is one such bunch... The album concludes with a terrific piece of contemporary 'grass,' My New Roommate is the Blues, which belongs on heavy rotation on all the radio shows and satellite services... and your disc player."
Tom Petersen ~ Victory Music ~ February 2007

"Some folks like to find the first flowers poking through the melting snows of spring, and Wintergrass was the place for my discovery of this great Northwest band. Pete Goodall, Alan Ehrlich, Mary Sackmann and Terry O’Brien have combined their considerable talents in this fascinating 16 song collection of mostly original tunes filled with humor, joy, love and some incredible instrumental virtuosity."
